Document search on your device

Milgaya makes documents on your phone searchable by their contents. Document reading, OCR and search run on your device. HTuse operates no Milgaya document server, and the app does not require an account. Milgaya does not upload your source documents, extracted text, file names, notes or search queries. Google libraries used by the app process some technical and purchase information as described below.

Information stored locally

Milgaya stores extracted text, file metadata and content hashes, thumbnails, search vectors, folder permissions, settings, bookmarks, notes, recently opened timestamps and up to eight recent searches in its private app storage. This storage is excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer.

You can turn off remembered searches or clear search history in Settings. You can remove bookmarks and edit or delete notes. Removing a folder in Folders removes that folder's indexed document records. Source files are never modified or deleted by indexing.

Copy and Export text are actions you choose. They place text in the Android clipboard or a location you select. Opening a source file passes its URI and temporary read permission to the viewer you choose. Other apps and storage providers handle those copies or files under their own policies. Exported files remain after Milgaya is uninstalled.

Google ML Kit text recognition

The bundled Latin and Devanagari text-recognition models process images and text on the device. Recognition input and results are not sent to Google by ML Kit, and recognition can work offline.

ML Kit sends Google technical data for diagnostics and usage analytics. According to Google's disclosure, this includes device manufacturer/model and OS information; app package and version; per-installation identifiers; performance measurements; API configuration such as image format and resolution; feature input/output sizes; model or feature versions; feature events and error codes. These installation identifiers are not intended to uniquely identify a person or physical device. Technical metadata is distinct from document contents, but it is still data sent off the device.

Google encrypts this transmission using HTTPS. Google uses these metrics to measure, debug, maintain and improve its APIs and detect misuse, under the ML Kit terms and Google's Privacy Policy. Milgaya does not provide an in-app opt-out for this SDK telemetry. HTuse does not receive a copy of this telemetry or set its retention period.

Google Play Billing and Premium

Google Play handles optional Premium purchases and subscriptions. The app contacts Play to obtain current products and prices, check existing ownership and restore purchases. It uses product identifiers, purchase tokens, purchase state and acknowledgement information to enable the features you bought. Ownership checks can occur without making a new purchase.

HTuse can see transaction records provided in Play Console, such as the order, product, country, date, amount and status, for purchase support, accounting and fraud prevention. Milgaya has no separate purchase server and does not receive your payment-card details or Google account credentials. Google retains purchase information under its policies and applicable financial obligations. Manage subscriptions and purchase history through Google Play; uninstalling Milgaya does not cancel a subscription.

Android diagnostics and support

Android or Google Play may provide crash and performance reports according to your device and Google settings. This is separate from the ML Kit telemetry above. If you email support, HTuse receives your email address and the information you choose to include, uses it to respond, and retains it as needed for the request and legal obligations. Do not send private documents unless necessary for a support request.

Permissions

• Folders: Android's folder picker grants read access to folders you choose. You can add or remove folders in the app.
• Photos: optional image access lets the app index text in supported received images. On Android 14 and later, limited photo access is detected and the app offers a folder-based alternative. Older Android versions use the storage permission available on that version.
• Notifications: optional indexing progress notifications.
• Foreground service, data sync: keeps a visible document-indexing pass running. A pass can start after folder setup, from Index now, or when the app opens if Index on launch is enabled. Stop an active pass in Folders. Background maintenance checks for new files periodically; work can also be restricted to charging in Settings.
• Internet/network state: Google SDK communication described above. Document search itself does not require an internet connection.
• Billing: optional Premium purchases and ownership checks through Google Play.

Milgaya does not request All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE). It contains no advertising SDK.

Deletion and your choices

Remove a folder in Folders to stop indexing it and remove its indexed records. Rebuild the index in Settings to regenerate extracted content from the currently permitted sources. Rebuilding is not a permanent deletion of data from sources that remain enabled.

Uninstall Milgaya or use Android Settings → Apps → Milgaya → Storage → Clear storage to delete private local app data. Original documents and exported files remain. There is no Milgaya account to delete. Local deletion does not remove Google's diagnostic or purchase records, and it does not cancel subscriptions. Google controls retention and relevant account/privacy choices for those records. Contact support@htuse.com about support correspondence or transaction information held by HTuse; financial records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations.

Children

Milgaya is not directed to children under 13. HTuse does not knowingly request personal information from children. The Google SDK practices described above apply whenever the app is used.
